Job description
We’re looking for a well-rounded designer with big ideas and the ability to execute those ideas at a high level, demonstrating a sense of craft, conceptual thinking and strong design fundamentals. You should be self-motivated, organized and thoughtful, with an understanding of the relationship between pets and their parents. You should be a willing collaborator, able to take constructive feedback. You should also be able to develop your own ideas independently and explain them to non-design audiences. You’ll be the one to shape and own the visual identity of Pet Releaf, including website, digital media assets, exhibitions and tradeshows, corporate presentations, collateral, and more. Your graphics should capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right branding and messaging. For this, you need to have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design. If you can communicate well and work methodically as part of a team, we’d like to meet you. The goal is to inspire and attract the target audience of pet retailers and consumers.
Job responsibilities
- Partner with our Head of Marketing to lead the internal creative process
- Conceptualize, design and execute integrated direct and brand marketing campaigns
- Be a brand guardian, meaning you understand the brand DNA of Pet Releaf and can visually translate it into marketing materials
- Oversee and help design graphic concepts, assets, and visual treatments across different media, marketing channels and departments
- Work with partner vendors to guarantee an integrated brand experience
- Show great attention to detail, even-and especially-on tight timelines.
- Designs graphics and innovative concepts for company products to include print branding, designs for websites, online/ social media advertising, product brochures, corporate decks, tradeshow materials, etc.
- Responsible for interpreting creative briefs.
- Create both internal and external print and digital art to supplied specifications and branding guidelines.
- Oversee evolution of the company’s brand guidelines.
- Prepare final print- or publication-ready files based on supplied specifications.
Qualifications
- 3r+ years of professional experience and passion for strategic creative design work.
- BA/BS in Art, Graphic Design, or Marketing, or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to multitask, organize, prioritize and work independently.
- A portfolio that reflects clean, intuitive, and functional design.
- Exceptional skill in the formal aspects of design, including typography, composition, form, hierarchy, proportion and color
- Versed in the social media ecosystem, with a keen understanding of how to participate meaningfully + authentically
- Enthusiasm for Pet Releaf’s mission and the emotional connection between pets and humans
- Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite
Preferred, but not required:
- Past experience working at or with a remote company
- Experience or interest in photography, videography or motion
- Owning a dog or pet
- Copywriting skills
