For Linda Twomey, rescuing Bud and June, littermates abandoned in a South Carolina forest, has been an incredible journey.
Abandoned in the Forest
It was a cold December day in 2016 when Linda first discovered Bud and June online. They were listed as part of a new South Carolina rescue called Lucky Pup, a relatively new organization focused on providing safe havens for abandoned animals by placing them in foster homes. Bud and June were among the first lucky pups taken into the rescue, which was established in 2015. After being found abandoned in the woods at just three weeks old, they were tiny, vulnerable, and in desperate need of care, but quickly found themselves in the capable hands of the Lucky Pup team.
Linda knew she wanted to adopt the pair right away, and was able to bring them home at 9 weeks old.
Finding Relief
Linda describes Bud as mellow, while June, his "bossy sister", is energetic and athletic. Despite their differences, Linda loves them both deeply. Initially, Linda used Pet Releaf to help manage June's stress. It wasn’t until she stopped using it that Linda realized how much it had been helping. June occasionally suffers from IBS flare-ups, and when Linda stopped the Pet Releaf, those flare-ups returned almost immediately. She went back to the Pet Releaf, and sure enough, the symptoms stopped once again.
Now, June has been on Pet Releaf Daily Releaf Oil for years, and Linda is happy to report that her pup almost never experiences any IBS issues. As for Bud, he also gets Pet Releaf because, as he ages, he has started experiencing stiffness and difficulty getting up. Thanks to Pet Releaf, however, both of her pups are thriving, even as they enter their ninth year.
In addition to Pet Releaf Daily Releaf Oil, Linda also keeps Edibites on hand for those particularly stressful days. June, in particular, gets stressed during thunderstorms, fireworks, or even the sound of a chirping smoke alarm. On those days, the Edibites are a lifesaver, helping her stay calm and feel safe.
Two Lucky Pups
For Linda, finding a reliable product to support her pups' health and well-being has been a relief. The combination of Daily Releaf Oil and Edibites has given her peace of mind, knowing that she’s doing everything she can to keep her lucky pups happy and comfortable.
The journey from abandoned in the forest to a loving forever home wasn’t easy for Bud and June, but thanks to Lucky Pup and Linda’s care and dedication, they’ve grown into the happy dogs they are today.
Lucky Pup is a 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue in Upstate South Carolina. Founded by Elizabeth Tate, the organization has served over 4,000 animals since 2015.
