What financial planning did you consider prior to getting your pet(s)?
We use CareCredit for our pets, which has been really helpful and ensures we’re always prepared no matter what!
CareCredit is a card that allows you more flexible financing options for paying for your pet’s health & wellness. After having several dogs, we’ve learned that being prepared for anything is really important. Especially if you rescue, you never know what health concerns you might run into!
Do you believe where you live influences your monthly pet costs?
We live in a really pet-friendly place, so no, not for us here in Virginia.
How did you decide what was the right food option for your pet(s)?
With Boomer’s allergies, we had to spend time researching to find something that didn’t have anything that triggers him, like fish or chicken. We used to feed him Salmon, but then we found out he was allergic.
Zignature - turkey or beef, as these contain safe ingredients. We also occasionally cook chicken and turkey for them.
How much food do you go through in a month?
30 lbs of food a month, so about one full bag.
Which Pet Releaf products do you use and why?
Daily Releaf Edibites: for Boomer’s allergies and Ella’s energy.
Skin & Paw Releaf: We love this product! With Boomer’s nose, it gets dry and crusty, so we put it on his nose to help with that and his paws for cracked paws. I've also used it on one of Ella’s cut to help heal it, and it helped tremendously! I think every pet parent should have this product. It works for so many different things and REALLY works.

Do your research!! Check into wherever you’re rescuing your pet from and know what you’re getting. Invest in insurance! Making sure you’re prepared no matter what happens.
