What is the U.S. Hemp Roundtable?
The U.S. Hemp Roundtable is an organization made up of dozens of leading companies and organizations within the hemp industry for humans and animals. Each of the companies, like Pet Releaf, strive to bring only the safest hemp and CBD products to the industry. The roundtable stays up to date with the newest innovations, regulations, and policies within the industry to help companies better navigate the hemp and CBD world. They proudly represent the industry’s major national grassroots organizations and look to pave the way for hemp and CBD companies through education and action.
Education and Advocacy
With common misconceptions surrounding hemp-derived CBD products, The Roundtable prioritizes educating customers, policymakers, and businesses about the benefits and the safety of hemp-derived CBD. As well as education, another key focus of theirs is advocacy. Through the Roundtable, we advocate for legislation that ensures the safety and legality of CBD products for not only humans, but for our beloved pets as well.
What campaign efforts are the U.S. Hemp Roundtable focused on currently?
Right now, the U.S. Hemp Roundtable is heavily focused on supporting the recent introduction of H.R. 8179 also known as the Hemp and Hemp-Derived CBD Consumer Protection and Market Stabilization Act of 2020. If this law is passed, it would ensure that hemp-derived CBD and other non-intoxicating hemp ingredients could be lawfully marketed as dietary supplements.
The signage of this bill would be a significant win for CBD consumers and pet parents! This bill would require CBD and hemp manufacturers to comply with the entire existing comprehensive regulatory framework for dietary supplements. In other words, it would ensure that the products are deemed safe, properly labeled, and prepared using Good Manufacturing Practices.
